• Closely involved with every step of the development cycle, covering: requirements gathering and information architecture, design and implementation, functional and integration testing, live demonstrations and training sessions with clients, and deployment of applications to staging and production environments.

• Employed a wide variety of tools and techniques to deliver cross-browser solutions on time.

• Built both front-end and back-end applications on a number of frameworks, languages and platforms.

• Coordinated development efforts as the lead developer on several projects, working closely with both in-house and off-site staff and clients.

• Communicated with third parties to create fully-functional API specifications and cross-domain integrations.

• Built deployment and packaging scripts to facilitate testing on internal staging environments and to transfer consistent code drops and binaries to clients.

• Lead several online training sessions with end users of our developed web solutions.

• Triaged and fielded client questions and concerns over email and telephone, opening and resolving new issues as required.

• Wrote technical reviews comparing current solutions with available content management frameworks.

• Developed applications whose workflows included: event registrations, membership renewals, bulk manipulations and processing of content, report generation, payment handling, social media integration, proximity-based searching and multi-language support.

• Major contributor to the Jonah Group blog, A Series of Tubes (aseriesoftubes.com), with articles covering debug methods to integrating shell commands within web interfaces.

• Created and maintained lunch club website to help organize and co-ordinate bi-weekly lunch club events for the entire company.

• Designed, developed, implemented, tested, documented and supported a number of IVR applications contracted to Genesys VG Inc. with a team of four members.

• Built an outbound calling scheduler, which issued phone calls via an IVR application configured through a campaign manager. This application was later used in production to make over one million calls a day.

Personal Projects

• Built a content management system from scratch in PHP to suit the needs of a satirical newspaper.

• Solved a complex problem of rendering static images as browser-friendly text-searchable maps (maps.gaardian.com), which has not been attempted before in this kind of recreational environment. The maps were also required to be navigable by visually-impaired users.

• Created several other online utilities that have been used several hundreds of thousand of times in the past couple years.

• Wrote a custom price monitor in CodeIgniter to automatically track sudden price drops on merchant websites and to provide alert notifications when items go on sale. Was successfully used to purchase products that were only on sale within a 24-hour window.

• Co-designed and developed a free, cross-platform, open source clipboard management utility used by thousands of users worldwide.
